Shall We Give This Another Try?
What is she up to today? I have been sifting through a time capsule of memories. For my relatively new friends, I need to tell you about my experience writing a blog a few years ago. It was challenging, stretching, and a really good way to create an autobiography. I have been strolling through the memories today, so thankful that I took the effort to write them in the first place.
My first instinct is to regret the years-long gap that separates the old posts from this first "new" post. But I am the first to admit that those "empty years" were indeed full of a beautiful life. I am now a proud grandmother to fourteen beautiful children and teenagers. As they have gotten even more beautiful, I have gotten older. But you know what? I really haven't minded being older because it means that I am receiving returned love by the bushelfull.

The Spirit of Aloha
Yes, there was pool time. Yes, there was beach time. Yes, there was the requisite shopping at Hilo Hattie's.
But when my family went to Hawaii I felt our experience was unique.
The highlight of the trip for me was easily our Sabbath Day. And it was anything but normal.
We rose early, showered, shaved, and dressed for church, and spent three hours worshiping with the Hawaiian Latter-Day Saints in Lahaina. There was an abundance of the Spirit present and we were richly rewarded by our attendance with them.
So far, our day seemed much like any other Sunday.
However, following our meetings we grabbed a picnic lunch prepared the night before by Erica. Our lunch also had a Hawaiian flair as the chicken for our chicken salad sandwiches had been purchased the day before at a roadside stand selling "Huli Huli chicken," freshly cooked on a grill.
